Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi (D)
Say hello to Xinjiang! Tourists will meet the tour guide at the Urumqi Airport. Then you will be escorted to the hotel booked pre-trip. The time left of today is for you to relax and enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Urumqi – Heavenly Lake of Tianshan( B, L, D)
After breakfast, we gather for a briefing about the incoming trip, then are driven to visit the beautiful Heaven Lake. The title “Heaven” is tagged with the fairy story about this land, where the Heavenly Queen once lived. It’s a serene alpine lake surrounded by rugged slopes with snow-capped mountains in the background. The emerald water is very transparent; you can take a stroll around the lake, take a deep breath in the fresh air, and sightseeing the charming scenery.
Have lunch at a local restaurant. Participate in a lot of fun activities in the afternoon. Involve in a boat cruising, have chances to take the incredible picturesque views of inverted reflection of snow mountains, flourishing plants and blooming flowers around the lake.
When it gets dark, you will be taken back to the Urumqi hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Urumqi – Turpan (B, L, D)
This morning we get up early and move to the “fire land” – Turpan, famous for its melons and vineyards.
The first attraction is the Karez System which is a brilliant project specialized in irrigation including vertical wells, ground canals, underground canals and waterlogging pond. The wells are linked together to integrate the water to farmlands on the ground, this can occur in summer rainy seasons, or melt from snow mountains of the Tianshan range. After the Karez visiting, we transfer to tour anther famous relic – the Jiaohe Ancient City which used to be the capital city of the former Cheshire State. The local people praise this relic as the “perfect ruin of earth building” the reason is that it has been well preserved for up to two thousand years.
Have lunchtime at a restaurant near there. The last destination for today is to visit the Emin Minaret. It is an elegant and innovative Islamic pagoda built by the duke Emin Hezhuo to express his devotion to the lord Allah. Emin Minaret looks like a 44meter awl. Nearby, there is an ornate mosque.
Head off the hotel and have an enjoyable time eating dinner. The rest of the time at night is free for you to explore the city.
Day 4: Turpan – Urumqi ( B, L, D )
After breakfast, Tourists will start this day with the Flaming Mountains. Once coming here, you will admire the red sandstones cover stretching about 100km of Flaming Mountain, which looks like a flaming fire. Overwhelmed by the heat of the Flaming Mountains? We transfer to get the pleasant cool of the Grape Valley, visitors not only could taste delicious grapes and other fruits but they also listen to explanations about the farming method of these fruits.
In the afternoon, have a taste of traditional food in the farmland. The following destination you will explore is the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves. Its prominent feature is the cover of 40 large wall paintings on the scale of more than 1,200 square meters with numerous themes like the Gaochang Kingdom, Buddhism, etc.
At the end of the day, we go back to Urumqi. Have a taste of local cuisine for dinner.
Day 5: Urumqi – Kashgar (B, L, D)
For today itinerary you will get up early in the morning and take a flight to Kashgar. Once you reach the airport, the tour guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel in Kashgar.
Enjoy lunchtime. The Abakh Khoja Tomb is the first place to visit. The tomb was served as the royal family graveyard of Abakh Khoja, dated back from the 17th century. Next, we transfer to the next attraction: the famous Kashgar Bazaar. As one of the most important cities along the Silk Road, Kashgar has always been a very important trading center.
Return to the hotel and relax. Time at night is at leisure, maybe you like a food tour around this city.
Day 6: Kashgar – Karakul Lake (B, L, D)
Your breakfast will be served at the hotel, go on a journey to the famous Karakul Lake. It is by the foot of the Muztagh Ata, along the China Pakistan Highway. Karakul Lake is known as the highest lake of the Pamir plateau, which is at an altitude of 3600 meters. Its highlight is the amazing combination of lake and snow mountain landscape. Tourists have chances to marvel at three giant mountains – Muztagh Ata, Kongur Tagh and Kongur Tiube which are often covered with snow throughout the year.
Your lunch boxes will be delivered at lunchtime. Spend time in the afternoon to explore the rest of the tranquil Karakul Lake.
Later in the afternoon, you will be accompanied to Kashgar City. Have dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Kashgar – Urumqi ( B, L, D )
Start the morning with breakfast, we travel to the Id Kah Mosque which is the wonderland for the Muslims. Id Kah Mosque attracts thousands of Muslims to worship. In the past, Id Kah Mosque is used as a school to teach Islam culture. Many scholars and honored students graduated from here. The following activity is to travel to the Old Town of Kashgar City, in which you will experience the authentic lifestyle. The destination was known as the place for its Silk Road charming, mud-brick houses and the friendly Uyghur neighborhoods.
Enjoy local food in a restaurant. Our schedule for this afternoon is to explore the Xinjiang Regional Museum. We will have the feeling like going back in the history of more than 5,000 arts and historical relics. The building structures according to Uygur style is its highlights; when you get inside, there are three exhibition hall: Ethnic Exhibition, History Relics Exhibition & Mummy Exhibition.
In the early afternoon, we take a flight to Urumqi. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8: Urumqi Departure ( B )
Have the last breakfast at the hotel, tourists will have time to wrap up luggage. Then the tour guide will escort you to the airport for homecoming flight. Our China package tour goes to an end. We hope you experienced an enjoyable time during this trip.
